THIS ISN'T AN  EXHIBITION ABOUT HISTORY.
THIS IS ABOUT WHAT HISTORY DID
TO TEN JEWISH FAMILIES IN POLAND.

Welcome to this unique combination of oral histories, family photographs, and audio storytelling, all of which you can view in the Galicia Jewish Museum, access through this website, and download through a walking tour app of Kazimierz, Kraków’s Jewish quarter.

You're about to meet men and women who grew up religiously observant or in secular homes. Some lived in big cities, others in shtetls (villages with large Jewish populations). A few were upper middle class, most were relatively poor or working class.

Seven of our narrators remained in Poland after the war, one made a home in Leningrad/St Petersburg, and two settled in the United States.
